Building Up Kelso

You might have noticed that several significant construction projects have begun or been planned in Kelso. These projects include the following:

Not ‘Backwards’, But Not ‘For Wards’

The Daily News today discussed the upcoming ballot measure that would amend the city charter so that four of the current seven council positions are elected by wards. That means that a candidate must live within a defined section of town in order to run for one of those seats.

Moving the Kelso Library

You might have seen a recent TDN article that pointed out that we have sold two locations considered as possible sites for a new library. The implication was that the council was no longer pursuing a new library building. Nothing could be further from the truth.

A New Tool to Keep You Informed

If you’re anything like us, government decisions sometimes leave you scratching your head. Issues seem like they’re decided with no input from the citizenship, and it’s hard to know what’s happening in your town. We hope to change that with this blog.

Some other councilmembers and I will give you background information and our thoughts on issues coming before the council. We also hope you’ll post comments to give us your thoughts and concerns.

Citizen communication is important to our entire council. We work to make Kelso better for you. We hope that by giving you insight into our decisions, you’ll see that’s true.
