Watched the meeting tonight regarding skate park rules. By all means don’t permit bikes to use the facility. We visited the park in Boardman that didn’t exclude them and they had a disaster. Lots of hard feelings between the two groups . In addition the bike skid marks look awful in addition to reducing the life of the concrete.
We’re still working on the bike issue. There are certainly some practical considerations, but personally, I’d like to see the groups have a chance to see if they can get along before banning any population from a public park. I found an interesting manual on skate park management that talks about BMX bikers in skate facilities.
