About this site
If you’re anything like us, government decisions sometimes leave you scratching your head. Issues seem like they’re decided with no input from the citizenship, and it’s hard to know what’s happening in your town. We hope to change that with this blog.
I will give you background information and our thoughts on issues coming before the council. I also hope you’ll post comments to give us your thoughts and concerns.
Citizen communication is important to our entire council. We work to make Kelso better for you. I hope that by giving you insight into our decisions, you’ll see that’s true.
Just to be clear, this isn’t an official blog of the City of Kelso, or really even the Council as a whole. It’s just some individuals working to represent you and keeping you up to date with your city.
What streets and or areas of Kelso are scheduled for resurfacing this year?
Larry,
This year’s emphasis was to be on the Talley Way industrial area, I believe. A map of the next few years’ overlay plans is available on the city website at:

Hope that helps!

Wanted to make you aware of a safety hazard for pedestrians. Heading north on 4th and crossing Allen Street where the eastbound traffic comes of the Allen Street Bridge: the branches on the maple trees are so low that I have to bend down to see if any cars are coming (I’m only 5′6″). If I can’t see the cars it means that they also can’t see me. Makes it quite an expreience to walk to the post office.

Carol,
I know exactly what you mean. I ride through there on my Segway, and have the same trouble. Fortunately, I can jet across there pretty quickly, but it’s definitely a problem. I hate to take out trees, but it beats somebody getting run over in the crosswalk.
I’ll pass that along…
